Following the launch of the project titled ‘Transformative Reduced Inputs in Potatoes’, or TRIP for short, which will be funded by Innovate UK over the next three years, Emerald Research Ltd (ERL) has appointed Anna Cervi as the TRIP project’s Formulations Chemist.
Based at the project’s laboratory at Bangor University’s Henfaes Research Centre, Anna will focus on continuing the development of trials and assays. Supported by David Shaw and Radek Braganca, Anna will be formulating biochemical/microbial candidate products for both glasshouse and field experiments at the research centre.
Anna, who is fluent in three languages, brings a wealth of experience as well as a unique and varied skill set to the project, having spent her career in a range of organisations and roles from working with high value phytochemical products to naturally sourced performance chemicals.
On starting the role Anna commented “I am really looking forward to being part of the complete process from initial formulation to field trials and evaluation – there is a real sense of accomplishment from seeing your formulations work in a field.’
